Questions and answers
The things people ask before they book. If yours isn't here, message us on WhatsApp and a person will answer.
How much does a private boat charter in Malta cost?
Prices are for the whole boat, not per person, and include the captain, fuel and cleaning. A half day (4 hours) starts from €435 and a full day (8 hours) from €660, both on the Saver 750 WA for up to 8 guests.
For larger groups, the AS Marine 28 WA takes up to 11 guests from €510. At the top of the range, the Cranchi Mediterranée 43 is €1,400 for a full day. You reserve with a deposit and pay the balance to the captain on the day. Compare all boats and prices.
Do I need a boating licence or any experience?
No. Every charter comes with a licensed professional captain who handles the boat, the route and the safety briefing. You're a guest, not crew.
Is the price per person or for the whole boat?
For the whole boat, up to the capacity shown on its page. Split it between your group and it usually works out cheaper than a shared tour, with none of the queuing.
What's included in the price?
On every boat: the captain, fuel, cleaning, life jackets, a first aid kit and snorkelling masks. Water and soft drinks are included on the Beneteau 50, Cranchi 43, Bavaria 45 and White Shark 25. For the Saver 750 and AS Marine 28 you can also order food and drinks from our menu.
Can we bring our own food and drinks?
Yes, on every boat, alcohol included. There's a fridge or ice box on board to keep it cold.
How do I book, and how do I pay?
Send an enquiry from the boat's page or message us on WhatsApp with your date and group size. We check the date and email you deposit details: Revolut, credit or debit card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Wise or PayPal. The deposit confirms the booking.
The balance is paid to the captain in person on the day, before you leave the marina.
What happens if the weather is bad?
If the charter is cancelled for weather, you choose between a full refund of your deposit and a new date. Often a change of route is enough: the north coast is sheltered when Comino is choppy.
What is the cancellation policy?
The deposit is non-refundable: it covers the reservation and administration. Weather cancellations are the exception and are refunded in full. Full details are on the terms page.
Where do we leave from, and how do we get there?
Ta' Xbiex Marina for the Saver 750, AS Marine 28 and Beneteau 50; Msida Marina for the White Shark 25, Bavaria 45 and Cranchi 43. Both are on Marsamxett Harbour, about ten minutes by taxi from Sliema, St Julian's or Valletta. We send a map pin with your confirmation.
How long does it take to reach the Blue Lagoon?
About 45 minutes from the marina by motorboat, a little longer under sail. On a half day you'll have an hour or two at Comino; a full day adds the Santa Maria Caves, Crystal Lagoon and Santa Maria Bay. See all destinations.
Can we choose where we go?
Yes. Every charter is private, so tell the captain what you'd like and he'll plan the route. He has the final say on safety and sea conditions.
Is there a toilet on board?
Yes, every boat in the fleet has a toilet on board.
Are children welcome?
Yes. Children count towards the boat's capacity and life jackets are on board for everyone. Tell us their ages when you book so the captain can plan calmer stops and shallow swimming.
What should we bring?
Swimwear, towels, hats and sun cream, and your food and drinks if you're not ordering from the menu. Bring a dry bag for phones. The balance for the captain is paid on the day.
Do you run sunset trips?
Yes. The Saver 750 and AS Marine 28 offer a sunset slot from 18:00 to 22:00, leaving Ta' Xbiex and finishing with the lights of Valletta and the Grand Harbour.
Can we use the cabin bed on the Saver or AS Marine?
The bed isn't included by default. It can be made available for an extra €50 if you ask when booking, so that clean bedding is prepared.
